Too Random

I know I haven't posted much in the past while, and to be honest, I'm not sure why. I've been busy with a few things at home, trying to make a few extra bucks here and there so I have some sort of a summer. Technical issues are holding me back on that front, so it's been a slow go.

I actually just got back from having a coffee with an ex-girlfriend of mine. She really is a beautiful person, inside and out, and to be honest, she is the only ex that I still miss. If I could go back all those years, I would, just to make it right. Oh well, hindsight is 20/20 and I am not going to dwell on something that I have no control over. I'm perfectly fine being friends, and I look forward to our time together.

(I just heard on the news of the flood in Peterborough. Marie and Pete, I hope you're okay! I'll call tomorrow to make sure!)

I've been asked by two people lately to make websites for them, so once I find the motivation to get them going, I'll post the links of the finished sites. The problem is that I am in the midst of a major undertaking at work, and it is difficult after doing web development eight hours a day to find the time and motivation to work on it when I get home. The bonus is that I have cut down my development time immensely, so I should be able to push something out for these guys.

Anyway, I've been rambling, and while this post contains basically no content, its something just to let the few visitors know that I am actually still around. Just because I can't jump on the phone, doesn't mean I can't keep in touch, albeit indirectly.

Have a good weekend.

"We mustn't. Because there's only the us two and in the world there's all the rest of them. If anything comes between us we're gone and then they have us."

"They won't get us," I said. "Because you're too brave. Nothing ever hapens to the brave."

"They die of course."

"But only once."

"I don't know. Who said that?"

"The coward dies a thousand deaths, the brave but one?"

"Of course. Who said it?"

"He was probably a coward," she said. "He knew a great deal about cowards but nothing about the brave. The brave dies perhaps two thousand deaths if he's intelligent. He simply doesn't mention them."

"I don't know. It's hard to see inside the head of the brave."

"Yes. That's how they keep that way."

Hey!  Just thought I'd drop a quick line to let you know that, although a large part of the City of Peterborough has been devastated by the recent flood, we are just fine sitting high up here in the hills of the Kawarthas!  We didn't even get the hugh downpour that the City got (thank goodness!)  There are a lot of people who have not been able to get back into their homes due to extensive damage and there are a lot of business owners who have just walked away from the horror of it all and left their businesses to the City and clean up crews to deal with.  It will take months to recover from this, and we fear that Peterborough will never be the same.  Too many people have lost too much in just a few short years (remember the flood of 2002?) to be able to justify sticking around.  The financial losses to individuals and business owners alike are extraordinary and we cannot blame anyone who just "walks away".  It is all very tragic and very sad indeed.

we on the other hand had a mud slide come in our back yard and fill the pool. it took three days and 3 backwashes to clean the shit up. I had to shovel the rest of the mud (about 1 inch thick) off the cement. Well rotton ronie will have no retaining wall to speak of next year. could not have happened to a nicer guy!!!
